About the course

The Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree program prepares students for leadership roles in research, development and design careers that require skillful and imaginative solutions to complex engineering problems. The program allows students to choose from five specialized concentrations ? circuits, computing systems, devices, power electronics and energy systems, and signals and systems ? and it provides a comprehensive, rigorous preparation for professional practice both established and emerging areas of electrical engineering.

  Led by world-class faculty ? and with a flexible curriculum that serves the needs of both full-time students and working professionals ? the master?s program in Electrical Engineering provides many research opportunities for students in specialties as varied as:

Entry requirements for University of Texas - Dallas

An undergraduate preparation equivalent to a baccalaureate in electrical engineering from an accredited engineering program.

  Unofficial transcripts only. Official transcripts are not needed during the admissions review process.If the transcripts do not show degree, major, and date conferred, a copy of provisional or official degree certification must be provided .

  GRE scores of at least 154, 156, and 4 for the verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing components, respectively. These scores are advisable based on average data of admitted students and our experience with student success in the program. UTD code number: 6897.

  Three letters of recommendation from individuals who are able to judge the candidate's potential for success in the master's or doctoral degree program.

  An essay outlining the candidate's background, education, and professional goals. The use of the ECE Graduate Application Essay Template is recommended, but it is optional, applicants can fill in more than one sheet.

  All students, originating from countries where English is not one of the official national languages, must submit an acceptable English proficiency exam score. Minimum acceptable score guidelines can be obtained on the Graduate Admissions English Proficiency page for international students. UTD code number: 6897.

  If seeking a second master's degree at UTDallas, applicants must provide a copy of degree certification or transcripts that show degree, major, and date conferred for the first master's degree.
