About the course

The master of science in electrical engineering at CU Denver is geared toward electrical engineers who are interested in advancing their careers or move into leadership positions. There is no specific curriculum for the master of science degree except for a breadth requirement, which is a combination of electrical engineering courses chosen by the student. At the CU Denver College of Engineering, Design and Computing, we focus on providing our students with a comprehensive engineering education at the undergraduate, graduate and professional level. Faculty conduct research that spans our five disciplines of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, bioengineering, and computer science and engineering. The college collaborates with industry from around the state, our laboratories and research opportunities give students the hands-on experience they need to excel in the professional world. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Colorado - Denver

To be considered for admission to the master of science program, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  Bachelor of science degree from a reputable institution, either in electrical engineering or in math, physics and other engineering disciplines

  At least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

  Statement of purpose – must be an original essay submitted with application. Scanned copies will not be accepted for submission.

  Official transcripts – we require one official copy of each previous transcript.

  E-transcripts should be sent to the Graduate School at [email protected]. ​

  Letters of recommendation – three are required (4th optional)

  Official GRE scores

  For master's programs, applicants must submit evidence of adequate preparation for graduate study by either (a) submitting official GRE scores, or (b) documenting an earned bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.00 or higher from an institution accredited by a U.S. accreditation body, or an earned master’s degree with a GPA of 3.50 or higher from an institution accredited by a U.S. accreditation body. Use Institution Code 4875. Do not submit additional department codes.

  Minimum TOEFL score accepted: 75 IBT / 537 PBT

  IELTS: Minimum IELTS score accepted: 6.5
