To be considered for admission to the M.S.E.E. program, students must first satisfy basic requirements of the Graduate School. This includes having a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related area with an overall undergraduate grade point average of at least 2.9 on a 4.0 scale. International students must have a TOEFL score of at least 550 on the paper-based exam or 213 on the computer-based exam or 79 on the internet based exam or IELTS score of minimum 6.0. In addition, the program requires students from non-ABET accredited undergraduate programs to submit general GRE test scores and the preferred combined (verbal and quantitative) GRE score is of minimum 300. Program admission decisions are based on complete application information including overall academic performance and standardized test scores where applicable. A student may be admitted to the program on a conditional status. Typically, a conditionally admitted student is required to achieve 3.0 GPA of the first two graduate courses (6-8 credit hours) specified by a department advisor. A student with an undergraduate academic deficiency may petition for admission after demonstrating the ability to perform well in graduate courses taken in a non-degree status.
