The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at UNM prides itself in its ability to provide a solid foundation in both field- and laboratory-based geosciences. Our emphasis is on training well-rounded students in the laboratory, classroom, and field. Financial support is available in the form of Teaching Assistantships, Research Assistantships, and Fellowships. All awards are made on a competitive basis. How to apply
Entry requirements for University of New Mexico
A Bachelor's Degree in Earth and Planetary Sciences or related science (materials science, chemistry, meteorology, biology, physics, anthropology, engineering) is required for admission into the Master's program.
Minimum of a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) on a U.S. 4.0 scale or comparable grade point average in upper-division (junior and senior level) university course work and in any graduate work already completed.
Graduate TOEFL (internet-based) - 79. Graduate TOEFL (paper-based) - 550. Graduate IELTS - 6.5.
