About the course

The Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction program requires 36 semester hours beyond the bachelors degree. Up to 6 semester hours of graduate credit may be transferred into the masters program. Applicants for the program, which is an on-campus-based classroom experience, must select one of ten content specializations (i.e., Curriculum Development, Elementary Education, English Education, Learning Technologies, Mathematics Education, Modern Language Education, Physical Education, Science Education, Social Studies Education, or Special Education). How to apply

Entry requirements for Florida International University

Hold or qualify for teacher certification in an appropriate area.

　　A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area from an accredited institution.

　　GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 semester hours of upper division undergraduate study.

　　Two (2) letters of recommendation to support the application. Letters and any other supporting documents are to be sent to FIU Graduate Admission Office, 11200 SW 8th Street, PC 230, Miami, FL 33199.

　　A statement of personal philosophy/professional goals consistent with the objectives of the masters’ program.

　　International graduate student applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit a score for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A total score of 80 on the IBT TOEFL or 6.5 overall on the IELTS is required.
