Crop and soil scientists are responsible for the world’s food, feed, and fiber supply, while conserving our soil and water resources. Our goals are to provide the best educational programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conduct innovative basic and applied research programs in the crop, soil, turf, and environmental sciences, and to provide superior service to our clientele.

Letters of recommendation
The University of Georgia will accept satisfactory scores on either the TOEFL or IELTS language proficiency examinations for admission to graduate programs. TOEFL scores can be submitted electronically by the testing agency. IELTS scores must be send by paper. Minimum TOEFL score requirement: overall score of 80 with at least 20 on speaking and writing. Minimum IELTS score requirement: overall band-width of 6.5, with no single band (score) below 6.0.
