About the course

The Department of Civil Engineering offers the degrees of PhD in Civil Engineering, Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MS), Master of Science in Environmental Engineering (MSEnE), Master of Engineering in Civil and Environmental Engineering (MECEE).The Department of Civil Engineering strives to graduate highly qualified engineers, maintain nationally recognized research and provide quality professional and community service to the region and the world.

  The Civil Engineering Program at the University of Texas-El Paso through its faculty, staff, students, and constituent’s works together to acquire, generate, share, and use knowledge in the different fields of Civil Engineering to make the El Paso/Ciudad Juárez region and the world a better place to live. The Program accomplishes its mission through both undergraduate and graduate programs and contributes to the quality of these programs by generating research opportunities that create synergy among faculty, students, and practicing professionals. We contribute to the quality of life of society through innovation in the generation, sharing, and use of knowledge. We will continue to be leaders in procuring external funding for research and teaching. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Texas - El Paso

Applicants must have completed a bachelor?s or master?s degree in civil engineering, another related engineering discipline, architecture, business or physical science. Candidates for admission from other backgrounds will be considered for admission if they have construction experience acceptable to the department. The admissions committee evaluates the preparation of non-engineering applicants and recommends leveling courses as appropriate. These courses are not part of the Master of Science in Construction Management degree plan.

  For graduates of institutions outside the United States where English is not the first language, the Graduate School requires a minimum score of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (or a 79 on the TOEFL ibT) or a minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
