About the course
Loyola's MS in Computer Science provides a solid theoretical and practical foundation, acknowledging that computer science is key to algorithms in the sciences. The program is ideal if you are looking for a strong professional background in software development or other computing fields or are considering further study toward a Ph.D. The MS in Computer Science is a 30-credit-hour program consisting of 10 courses. You will take two required courses, choose four electives from a selection of advanced computer science courses, and complete the program with four additional electives that can include research, courses in related areas, or in other areas of computer science. Students will gain a broad background in the practical and theoretical foundations of Computer Science. Students in a specific concentration will gain mastery in that area, which students who pursue the thesis option will gain deep expertise in their research area. Entry requirements for Loyola University of Chicago
An applicant for admission must ordinarily hold (or receive prior to matriculation) a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. In addition, because academic qualifications are of major importance, the applicant ordinarily must have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. If you have non-U.S. educational credentials, you are required to submit your official education credentials (e.g., transcripts, mark sheets, degree certificates, graduation diplomas) and evaluation fee directly to any NACES member companies.
For the TOEFL, a minimum score of 79 on the iBT or a 550 on the written test is required.
For the IELTS, a minimum score of 6.0 is required.
