The Computer Science Department strives for excellence in creating, applying, and imparting knowledge in computer science and engineering through comprehensive educational programs, research in collaboration with industry and government, dissemination through scholarly publications, and service to professional societies, the community, the state, and the nation.
CS and CS&E Educational Objectives
The Department offers a bachelor of science degree in both computer science (CS) and computer science and engineering (CS&E). The key difference between the CS and CS&E degrees is that CS&E is designed to accommodate those students who desire a strong foundation in computer science and have a strong interest in computer system hardware. Entry requirements for University of California
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, comparable in standard and content to a bachelor’s degree from the University of California. An overall scholastic average of B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better is required. IELTS - 7.0. TOEFL IBT - 87. TOEFL PBT - 560.
