About the course
The master's program in Communication at Illinois State University provides a unique academic experience. You’ll learn diverse theoretical frameworks and research methods appropriate to the advanced study of communication. Our emphasis is on applying scholarly knowledge to evaluate and solve social problems. We also promote a passion for intellectual and theoretical discovery that transcends career objectives and course expectations. How to apply
Entry requirements for Illinois State University
In order to be admitted to Illinois State, a student must have earned a four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a college or university that is accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting association. In addition to the overall Graduate School requirements above, a student applying to a master's program must also have a minimum 2.8 GPA (on a scale in which an A is a 4.0) for the last 60 hours of undergraduate work (approximately the junior and senior years). A student applying to this program must: have a minimum GPA of 3.00 over the last 60 hours of your undergraduate degree coursework
International students are additionally required to obtain a minimum TOEFL score of 250 (computer-based testing), 100 (Internet-based testing), or 600 (paper-based).
