About the course

The General Degree Requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Earth and Planetary Science, in Atmospheric Science, or in Climate Physics and Chemistry are described under Graduate Education. An individual program of study and research is arranged to suit the special background, needs, and goals of each student. The program is worked out in detail by the student with his or her personal faculty advisor and a departmental committee. There are no foreign language requirements for the degree.

　　The master?s degree program?designed to be completed in two years?is suitable for motivated students with undergraduate degrees in geoscience, physics, chemistry, mathematics, or engineering. Students spend the first year taking classes and the second conducting research and thesis work. This program prepares students for scientific and management careers in the environmental, natural resources, and technical consulting industries. Entry requirements for Massachusetts Institute of Technology

To be admitted as a regular graduate student, an applicant must have earned a bachelor?s degree or its equivalent from a college, university, or technical school of acceptable standing. Students in their final year of undergraduate study may be admitted on the condition that their bachelor?s degree is awarded before they enroll at MIT TOEFL Ibt - 100. TOEFL Pbt - 600.
