About the course
Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) research in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering (CEAE) concerns fundamental experimental and theoretical studies at multiple length, spatial, and temporal scales of materials relevant to the CEAE discipline.
As a students in MSE, you are offered a unique opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary materials science research with world-class faculty while focusing your broader graduate studies on a specific area within CEAE, including architectural engineering, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering and geomechanics, or structural engineering and structural mechanics.
The MSE interdisciplinary research area offers a wide variety of cutting-edge topics related to traditional and emerging materials systems, experimental methods, and advanced computational analyses. How to apply
Entry requirements for University of Colorado - Boulder
Hold a baccalaureate degree from a college or university of recognized standing (or the equivalent), submit transcripts evidencing same. Show promise of ability to pursue advanced study and research, as judged by the student’s scholastic record. Have adequate preparation to enter graduate study in the chosen field. Have at least a 3.00 undergraduate grade point average. Note: Applicants who cannot meet this undergraduate standard may still secure regular admission if they have completed 9 semester hours of relevant graduate course work with at least a 3.25 average. A TOEFL score greater than 100 (internet-based) is desired. An IELTS score of 7.5 is desired. Paper-Based TOEFL scores will no longer be accepted.
