About the course

The LSU Department of Chemistry is a leading research and teaching-intensive program within the largest public institution in the state of Louisiana. The department is housed on the LSU Baton Rouge campus, which has been voted as one of the ten most beautiful campuses in the US.

　　Through interdisciplinary research, our students are working in some of the hottest and most exciting areas of modern chemistry. The faculty are extremely active while maintaining a strong commitment to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. As a result of our excellence in teaching and research, we have the largest PhD program at LSU, and we have also doubled the number of undergraduate majors in chemistry.

　　The LSU Department of Chemistry is on the cutting edge. We are one of the best-equipped Chemistry departments in the US, and we have been awarded and have invested well over 2 million dollars in NMR instrumentation. How to apply

Entry requirements for Louisiana State University - Shorelight

A conferred baccalaureate (or equivalent) or advanced degree from an accredited college or university by the expected date of entry into the graduate program.The LSU Graduate School requires a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. If your GPA is slightly lower than 3.0 but all other aspects of your application are strong, we can petition to have you admitted on academic probation. You will come off probation, providing you achieve a 3.0 GPA during your first semester at LSU.

　　The minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 550 on the paper-based exam (213 on the computer-based, or 79 on the internet-based exam). The minimum acceptable IELTS score is 6.5.
