About the course

The mission of CMMB is to advance basic and translational research as well as to provide excellent educational opportunities and training for our graduate students in a thriving collaborative environment. Our researchers combine genomic, biochemical, cellular, genetic and computational approaches with sophisticated imaging and molecular techniques to provide a wide range of cutting-edge skills. CMMB faculty have a strong record of receiving external funding and are committed to supporting our current community of faculty, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students and to recruiting the best new scientists. An incoming CMMB student is advised by a Graduate Education Committee (GEC) member in the programmatic requirements and in the selection of courses for the first semester (and for the second if a committee has not yet been formed and coursework approved). All CMMB students have CMMB Common Requirements. In addition to these, each emphasis has its own prerequisites and programmatic requirements (coursework, comprehensives, etc.). How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Montana

A competitive application will have a GPA of 3.1 or better (on a 4.0 scale). If your undergraduate GPA is below 3.1, additional graduate level courses can be taken as evidence of academic ability. Applicants whose native language is not English must submit TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) scores to be admitted as a graduate nondegree or graduate degree seeking student. Applicants scoring higher than 550 on the TOEFL PBT (the TOEFL PBT is no longer administered as of October 2017), the replacement TOEFL-Paper Delivered Test will be accepted in place of the PBT, 80 on the TOEFL IBT or 6.5 on the IELTS may be unconditionally admitted to a university graduate program, provided they meet that program's application standards.
