About the course
The M.S. program is intended to extend and broaden an undergraduate background and equip the graduates with fundamental knowledge in bioengineering. The M.S. degree may be terminal or may be obtained on the way to the Ph.D. The M.S. degree involves a combination of course work and original research. A total of forty-eight units of credit are required: thirty-six units in course work (nine courses, seven of which arae the core courses) and twelve units of Bioengineering Research (BE 299). Students must maintain at least a B average in courses taken to fulfill the degree requirements. Entering students who do not meet the prerequisites of these core courses may have to take some basic courses to make up the deficiency. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships

How to apply
Entry requirements for University of California - San Diego
Admission to the M.S., M.Eng. and Ph.D. programs is in accordance with the general requirements of the Graduate Division. Applicants are required to have completed a B.S. and/or M.S. degree by time of admission in a branch of engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, or quantitative life sciences. M.S. and Ph.D. applicants must have a GPA of 3.4 or better in technical courses. The university-wide minimum TOEFL score required for consideration for graduate admission is 550 for the paper based test (PBT), and 85 for the internet based test (iBT). The university-wide minimum IELTS Academic Training exam score required for consideration for graduate admission is Band Score 7.
