About the course
The Master’s programs offered by the BMB department provide students with in-depth knowledge in the fields of cellular biochemistry, gene expression, bioinformatics, molecular genetics, and biophysics. The curriculum is taught by faculty with extensive research experience in cutting edge areas of biochemistry. The curriculum prepares students for careers in academia, government, biotechnology, medicine, or the pharmaceutical industry, as well as strengthens applications to professional or graduate schools. The Plan B M.S. program is a one-year, non-thesis study of foundational and current innovations in biochemical concepts. In addition to earning 30 credits, a final project is required for graduation. The Plan A M.S. program provides students the same core curriculum as the Plan B M.S. program, and additionally requires completion of a research project, carried out in the lab of a BMB faculty member, as well completion of a Master’s thesis.
