About the course

La Trobe University's Master of Public Health and Master of Health Administration will prepare you for future health services management roles that deal with the needs of the ageing population, integration of healthcare delivery systems, technological innovations and an increasingly complex regulatory environment. The program will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a research or practice based project enabling you to apply your skills and knowledge to real world problems.

　　Apply critical reflective practice to solve complex local and global public health problems responsive to the needs of different contexts and stakeholder groups.

　　Conceive, create, lead, and evaluate achievable public health initiatives through synthesising theoretical principles of public health practice and apply project management tools and techniques underpinned by contemporary theoretical models

　　Graduates are qualified to work in community health services, hospitals, research bodies, and public health and health promotion agencies. How to apply

Entry requirements for La Trobe University

Prior learning developed through relevant work experience or professional accreditation, where it is deemed to be at least equivalent to that obtained through a Bachelor degree, may be considered.

　　300 credit point pathway - NON COGNATE (two and half years):

　　Successful completion of a 3 year Australian Bachelor degree (or its equivalent).

　　240 credit point pathway – COGNATE ENTRY (2 years):

　　Successful completion of a 3 year Australian Bachelor degree (or its equivalent) in a health related field and be eligible for registration with AHPRA.

　　180 credit point pathway – COGNATE ENTRY (18 months):

　　Successful completion of a 3 year Australian Bachelor degree (or its equivalent) plus honours in a health related field and be eligible for registration with AHPRA.

　　IELTS Overall 6.5, no band less than 6.0

　　TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall score of 79 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing
