About the course

Our Department of Mathematical Sciences offers MPhil Mathematics supervision in a wide range of mathematical areas, including both pure and applied subjects. Possible areas of research include algebra, combinatorics, computational mathematics, chaos theory, dynamical systems, differential equations and numerical analysis. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Essex

You will need a good Masters degree, or equivalent, in a related subject. A well-developed research proposal is also essential.

　　You will normally be required to attend an interview/Skype interview for acceptance, and acceptance is subject to research expertise in the department.

　　If English is not your first language , we require IELTS 6.0, or equivalent with a minimum of 5.5 in all other components.
