About the course

The University of New Mexico Department of Music aims to provide the highest quality musical education, in order to make a substantial contribution to the cultural life of its region and the world by reinforcing the integral value of music in society. Our programs strive to develop the complete musician, one who is not solely interested in his or her primary instrument, but one who engages the world around them with and through their music. The University of New Mexico is a member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). How to apply

Entry requirements for University of New Mexico

A candidate for the M.Mu. program must have an undergraduate degree in music from an accredited college or equivalent proficiency.

　　Minimum of a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) on a U.S. 4.0 scale or comparable grade point average in upper-division (junior and senior level) university course work and in any graduate work already completed.

　　 Graduate TOEFL  (internet-based) - 79. Graduate TOEFL (paper-based) - 550. Graduate IELTS - 6.5.
