About the course

The Sydney Medical Physics program provides specialist postgraduate training in the application of radiation physics, dosimetry, imaging and radiobiology for a range of medical conditions including cancer, and to radiation detection and protection.

  The Master of Medical Physics will set you on the path to becoming a clinical medical physicist. This entry-level qualification will give you the foundation knowledge to work within a clinical setting across areas of medicine including cancer treatment, diagnostic imaging, and health physics.

  The Master of Medical Physics is a postgraduate coursework degree that will give you the foundational knowledge to work within a clinical setting across different areas of medicine including cancer treatment, diagnostic imaging and health physics. It is accredited by the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM). You will complete core units in medical physics, including a research project. How to apply

Entry requirements for The University of Sydney

For admission into this course, you should have a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Engineering with a credit average and with a major in the discipline of physics. A credit average means a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 65. Applicants who do not meet the requirements for admission into the Master of Medical Physics may wish to consider applying for entry into the Graduate Diploma in Medical Physics. As part of the embedded program, upon successful completion of the Graduate Diploma in Medical Physics with a credit average, students may gain entry to the Master of Medical Physics through an internal upgrade.

  TOEFL-IBT- A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing

  IELTS score- A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band

  TOEFL - PBT score-A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing
