About the course

Advance your understanding in the real-life applications of mathematics and statistics and expand your career opportunities with the Master of Mathematical Sciences at UOW. This course is designed for graduates with a background in maths and stats, to upgrade mathematical skills, and to gain a deeper understanding of how maths and stats intersect with business, government, and society.

　　This degree will consolidate and expand your existing maths and stats knowledge and will educate you in the practice of mathematics in other disciplines such as computer science, business, science, and psychology. You will also develop skills in undertaking research on mathematical or statistical problems that arise in other disciplines, including how to effectively communicate and synthesise complex information with others. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Wollongong

The following level of English is required to gain admission to this program: IELTS Academic: 6.5 with subscores of 6.0 in each section. TOEFL ibt: 86 (Reading 18, Writing 18, Listening 17, Speaking 17).

　　A bachelor's degree with a major or minor in mathematics or statistics.

　　If applying based on a minor in mathematics or statistics, it must include a minimum of 12 credit points of mathematics or statistics subjects at the 200-level or higher.
