About the course

The Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) is a STEM-designated degree and fully accredited program that prepares graduate students for the rigors of professional practice, research, leadership, and community engagement. Students combine critical design thinking with creativity, and passion to address diverse landscape architecture and environmental planning projects.

  Our mission is to teach, learn, research, and apply state-of-the-art practices that create innovative and resilient landscapes focused on human and ecosystem health, safety, well-being, social equity, and quality of life.

  We prepare the next generation of landscape architects to engage challenges and opportunities focused on:

  Landscape dynamics and resilient design,

  Community planning and design,

  Design for children and families,

  Research and evidence-based design strategies,

How to apply

Entry requirements for North Carolina State University - Raleigh

The LAAB Accredited Track III curriculum is intended for graduate students with undergraduate degrees in fields other than landscape architecture, architecture or related design fields.

  Uploaded unofficial transcripts for each institution attended (official transcripts will be required if admitted)

  Minimum 3.0 GPA from all previous study at the college level.

  IELTS scores with an overall band score of at least 6.5. Minimum test scores for each section are listed below: Listening 6.5, Reading 6.5, Writing 6.5, Speaking 6.5

  TOEFL with a total score of at least 80 on the Internet-based Test (iBT), and with minimum test scores for each section of: Listening 18 points, Reading 18 points, Writing 18 points.

  Computer-based TOEFL scores must be 213 or higher (with at least 17 on three sections and no section score below 13). The paper-based test requires a score of 550 or higher (with scores of 50 on at least two of the three sections and no section score below 45).
