About the course

The master of information systems management (MISM) degree is designed for students seeking to further prepare for professional careers in information systems and offers students a hands-on approach to learning information systems design and implementation skills as well as management topics.

  The MISM program is available as a five-year integrated option for BYU students currently in the undergraduate information systems program or as a 12-month program for students who have already completed a technical bachelor?s degree. Students who have completed a bachelor?s in information systems (or a degree with an equivalent skill set, combined with experience) will be required to complete 33.5 credits in two or three semesters. How to apply

Entry requirements for Brigham Young University - Provo

Evidence of Bachelor’s Degree and Transcripts.

  Receive at least a 3.0 grade-point average in the cumulative undergraduate GPA from a regionally accredited university in the United States, or a comprehensive grade-point average of 3.0 from an equivalent university outside the United States.

  IELTS - Overall minimum band score of 7.0 (consisting of minimum band scores of 6.0 in each module)

  TOEFL (paper based test) - 580

  TOEFL iBT (internet based test) - Minimum subscores of 22 (Speaking) and 21 (Listening, Reading, & Writing respectively) comprising an overall score at least 85.

  Pre-management courses: introduction to economics (micro and macro), introduction to statistics, introduction to financial and managerial accounting, introductory course in Java or equivalent, and introduction to management information systems.

  Pre-systems courses: equivalents of courses in systems analysis, database systems, principles of business programming, data communication, systems design and implementation, enterprise application development, and business processes and controls.
