About the course

The Master of Industrial Design degree is intended as preparation for students assuming responsible roles in the profession of industrial design. Currently, within the profession and in industrial design education, this degree is considered the terminal industrial design degree. The program teaches from a generalist viewpoint and deals with all aspects of machine-made products and their relationship to people and the environment.

　　The Department of Graphic Design and Industrial Design at NC State University has a unique tradition of offering graduate design education to students whose undergraduate degrees and employment experiences may be either within or outside of the field of industrial design. How to apply

Entry requirements for North Carolina State University - Raleigh

Uploaded unofficial transcripts for each institution attended (official transcripts will be required if admitted).This track is a program for a candidate with an undergraduate degree in a non-industrial design area.

　　Minimum 3.0 GPA from all previous study at the college level

　　IELTS scores with an overall band score of at least 6.5. Minimum test scores for each section are listed below: Listening 6.5, Reading 6.5, Writing 6.5, Speaking 6.5

　　TOEFL with a total score of at least 80 on the Internet-based Test (iBT), and with minimum test scores for each section of: Listening 18 points, Reading 18 points, Writing 18 points.

　　Computer-based TOEFL scores must be 213 or higher (with at least 17 on three sections and no section score below 13). The paper-based test requires a score of 550 or higher (with scores of 50 on at least two of the three sections and no section score below 45).
