About the course
Gain an understanding of the complex economic issues in health administration and find innovative solutions to global health problems to make real and sustainable differences to people's lives. The Master of Health Economics program is a joint initiative of UQ's School of Economics and School of Public Health. You'll work ly with leading academic staff from both schools. Study can be tailored to suit your career path, with specialised electives in health financing, public economics, health systems and cost effectiveness. You'll also have the option to complete an original research thesis. The 2-year program is ideal for graduates or healthcare professionals who don't have an economics undergraduate degree, with initial study providing a strong grounding in core economic and public health principles. Upon graduation, you'll have developed the tools to create change and solve problems in health policy and healthcare, so you can contribute to the long-term sustainability of healthcare systems in Australia or overseas. How to apply
Entry requirements for The University of Queensland
A Bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline with a GPA of at least 4.50 on a 7 point scale, or a Graduate Certificate in Economic Studies, or Graduate Diploma in Economics with a GPA of at least 4.50 on a 7 point scale.
IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 AND a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening. TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19. TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading.
