Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts - Arts Administration

About the course

Emphasizing the training of professional practitioners or professional teachers of the theatre practice, the Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts is a terminal professional degree that provides intensive concentration in arts administration, design, performance and pedagogy, or playwriting. A minimum of 60 hours is required beyond the baccalaureate. Completion of the MFA degree requires a written thesis or a thesis project. The MFA program is a professional training program that provides rigorous instruction and practical opportunities, on an in-depth level, in one area of specialization. The Master of Fine Arts in Arts Administration trains leaders and advocates in the field of theatre management/arts administration and includes a blend of theory and practice. We are unique, however, in that we encourage students to cross boundaries and engage in activities such as acting, stage-managing, directing, or dramaturgy.
