Florida State University/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, located in Sarasota, Florida, is a three-year graduate program culminating in a Master of Fine Arts degree through the Florida State University School of Theatre. Considered to be one of America’s leading acting schools, the Conservatory trains actors of the highest caliber in a professional theatre environment through classroom work and production experience. The program has been recognized in The New York Times, U.S. News, World Report, and The Princeton Review through their national rankings and articles about top graduate level training programs. Every Florida State University/Asolo Conservatory MFA candidate receives a full tuition waiver from Florida State University, and an assistantship to help defray living expenses, supported by Asolo Scholarship donors. The Asolo Repertory Theatre and Florida State University together fund the second year students study in London. Every student graduates with Equity eligibility, through work with the Asolo Repertory Theatre, as understudies in their first year, and as associate members of the acting company in their third year. How to apply
Entry requirements for Florida State University
Prior to beginning the application process, all prospective students must audition for the program. After receiving and accepting an offer from the FSU/Asolo Conservatory, you will receive a Conservatory application and instructions for the FSU admissions process.
To be eligible for admission and an assistantship, a student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in the last two years of college work or an acceptable score on the combined verbal and quantitative portions of the Graduate Record Examination taken within the last 5 years.
Internet based TOEFL (IBTOEFL): 80, Paper based TOEFL (TOEFL): 550, International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.5.
