About the course

The Metalsmithing and Jewelry MFA program at Colorado State University is a three-year, 60 credit course of self-guided study with a focus on creative studio practice and research. Our program encourages students to deepen their understanding of the field and their place within it, to expand their practice and develop a stronger individual artistic voice, and contribute to the growing and evolving visual and design culture that metalsmithing and jewelry encompasses. How to apply

Entry requirements for Colorado State University

All applicants should be prepared to submit:

　　-At least three letters of reference from persons who can testify to your professional qualifications, character, and potential for graduate study.

　　-Transcripts from every undergraduate institution that you have attended.

　　-Statement of Purpose.

　　-Artist Statement.

　　-20 images of work (including video, if applicable).

　　-Resume

　　-If you are applying to the printmaking program and you are selected as a finalist, original works will be required.

　　After submitting your online application and paying your application fee, begin submitting your supporting materials to complete your application.

　　Upload a variety of supporting documents directly to your application.

　　To submit official transcripts, contact your previous institutions to request they submit official transcripts to Colorado State University (use institution code 4075).

　　To submit test scores, contact the testing agency to request that scores be sent to Colorado State University (use institution code 4075).

　　Official transcripts or mark sheets and any certificates, diplomas, or degrees from each college or university attended is required regardless of the length of attendance, including courses in progress.

　　A minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation are required from previous instructors or employers who are able to comment on your abilities and potential for graduate study.

　　TOEFL score for admission without condition is 550 (paper based), or 80 (internet based). IELTS score for admission without condition is 6.5.
