This course is designed for students who want to be equipped with the knowledge to assess physical and functional capacity, identify risks and design targeted, functional and sustainable exercise programs, and apply these skills in practical clinical settings.
The Master of Exercise Physiology is a postgraduate coursework degree that will provide you with the knowledge, competencies and clinical experience required to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.
You will complete core units, one selective unit, and a capstone project unit in your final semester, which cover the areas of clinical exercise physiology practice including cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, cancers, kidney, respiratory / pulmonary and mental health, and any other conditions for which there is evidence that exercise can improve clinical status. A bachelor or master’s degree or a PhD in exercise science or a health-related discipline from the University of Sydney, or qualifications deemed by the faculty to be equivalent, and
A minimum GPA of 4.5 out of 7.0 which is an approximate Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60 percent

Current Exercise Scientist Accreditation (AES) with Exercise and Sport Science Australia, or
Completion of a bachelor or master’s degree accredited by Exercise and Sport Science Australia at the level of Exercise Science, or
