About the course
The Curriculum and Instruction (EDCI) program, housed within the Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership, offers graduate study leading to the Master of Education (M.Ed.). The Department offers a variety of programs individually designed to meet graduate students? personal and professional goals which may include educational research, teaching, supervising, providing leadership as curriculum specialists within the disciplines, teacher education or consulting at all levels of instruction: elementary, secondary and higher education. Some of the M.Ed. concentrations lead to teacher certification, including concentrations for candidates who have a bachelor?s degree in fields other than education and wish to become certified teachers. Other options include stand-alone M.Ed. concentrations intended for teachers and other education professionals. We also offer masters programs intended for education professionals whose work centers around research, as M.A. in the Teaching & Learning, Policy & Leadership program (TLPL).
This is a program that leads to a Master?s of Education (M.Ed.) as well as eligibility for Maryland State Department of Education PreK-12 World Languages Certification to teach in elementary or secondary schools in the following languages: Chinese, French German, Latin, Italian, Russian, Latin and Spanish.
