About the course

Graduates will be prepared to work with students who have high-incidence disabilities, such as learning disabilities (e.g., reading, writing, math), mild/moderate intellectual disabilities, behavioral and emotional disabilities, and communication disorders. Graduates teach evidence-based academic and behavioral strategies to students in grades K-12 in a continuum of settings. Mild/Moderate students are encouraged to complete the ESL Endorsement. Entry requirements for University of Utah

In accordance with the Utah State Office of Education?s ruling R277-502-3(5), the University of Utah?s Department of Special Education has established entry requirements designed to ensure that only well qualified individuals enter the program. Minimum requirements for admission in the University of Utah?s Department of Special Education include: a minimum GPA of 3.0, proof of a USBE-cleared fingerprint background check. The Admissions Committee in the Department of Special Education will take a holistic approach to evaluating each applicant?s file by examining: GPA, test scores, letters of recommendation, applicant?s personal statement and work history. Additional information regarding application materials that must be submitted (e.g., letters of recommendation, personal statement) he Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) General Test is a requirement for admission into the Master?s degree programs in the Department of Special Education. Toefl Paper based minimum score 600, Computer Based - 250, Ielts minimum score 7, Toefl Ibt minimum score - 90 (Reading 22, Listening 22, Speaking 23, Writing 23) , Toefl Ibt preferred Score - 100 (Reading 25, Listening 25, Speaking 25, Writing 25)
