About the course

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree is considered to be a professional degree awarded to individuals who have successfully completed studies in the following domains: Graduate core, Teacher licensure or Master of Education course work, Advanced graduate studies. Students may choose the M.Ed. degree with or without completing teacher licensure. The M.Ed. degree focuses upon professional achievement and experience substantially beyond the Baccalaureate and basic teacher preparation program. The program leading to the master?s degree must be agreed upon by the student?s supervisory committee and should represent a coherent pattern of instruction and practica rather than a random accumulation of a given number of course credits. The M.Ed. degree is awarded for completion of professionally oriented programs. Requirements include advanced course work in professional development and educational evaluation. Entry requirements for University of Utah

In accordance with the Utah State Office of Education?s ruling R277-502-3(5), the University of Utah?s Department of Special Education has established entry requirements designed to ensure that only well qualified individuals enter the program. Minimum requirements for admission in the University of Utah?s Department of Special Education include: a minimum GPA of 3.0, proof of a USBE-cleared fingerprint background check. The Admissions Committee in the Department of Special Education will take a holistic approach to evaluating each applicant?s file by examining: GPA, test scores, letters of recommendation, applicant?s personal statement and work history. Additional information regarding application materials that must be submitted (e.g., letters of recommendation, personal statement) he Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) General Test is a requirement for admission into the Master?s degree programs in the Department of Special Education. Toefl Paper based minimum score 600, Computer Based - 250, Ielts minimum score 7, Toefl Ibt minimum score - 90 (Reading 22, Listening 22, Speaking 23, Writing 23) , Toefl Ibt preferred Score - 100 (Reading 25, Listening 25, Speaking 25, Writing 25)
