About the course

We have programs for individuals who want to be teachers through our many licensure programs and educators in the community with our Child and Family Services program. We have alumni all over the state doing amazing work as educators. We are constantly ensuring our programs meet the state standards and meet the needs of our community partners. Under the direction of Dr. Murley, we have implemented the Residency year instead of 1-semester student teaching so our students are prepared for the first day in their own classroom. We believe that great teachers start with great education, which is what we provide from our faculty and staff. Education is a partnership that we are all a part of. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Tennessee

A student must have at least a 2.75 Cumulative GPA as well as at least a 2.75 UTC GPA. The cumulative GPA is determined based on all coursework taken at UTC and from any other institution. The UTC GPA is determined based solely on coursework taken at UTC.

　　An official transcript from each college or university previously attended. These transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to The UTC Graduate School office.

　　Applicants whose native language is not English must provide official scores for one of the exams recognized by UTC. Please note that English Proficiency scores more than two years old will not be accepted.
