About the course

In this course, you will analyse theoretical and real-world economic issues using state-of-the-art technical economic and statistical analysis. The degree includes core, electives and a 1-year research dissertation completed under the personal supervision of an academic member of staff.

　　This degree is designed for students with a strong background in mathematics, the sciences, or a strong undergraduate major in economics, as well as for professionals requiring high-end training in economic theory and applications. It is also suitable for students seeking a pathway towards a PhD.

　　The Master of Economic Analysis is a postgraduate coursework degree focusing on methods of economic modelling and working with data using sophisticated tools to produce independent research.

Entry requirements for The University of Sydney

Admission to candidature for the Master of Economic Analysis (1.5 years full-time) requires:

　　a bachelor's degree with a from the University of Sydney, including a major in Economics with a minimum distinction (75%) average, or an equivalent qualification, or

　　completion of the requirements of the embedded Graduate Certificate in Economic Analysis or Graduate Diploma in Economic Analysis with a minimum distinction (75%), or an equivalent qualification, or

　　completion of the Graduate Certificate in Economics with a minimum high distinction (85%) average, or equivalent qualification.

　　IELTS score A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.5 in each band

　　Toefl Pbt A minimum result of 592 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing
