About the course

In the Master of Business Information Systems (MBIS), you will learn what information systems can do, how they can be effectively deployed, computer coding, models to elicit business intelligence and ways to solve real problems.

　　In our MBIS, you will straddle the world between computer coders and business decision-makers – a fast-growing and largely untapped space ready to be bridged by those with the relevant technical and business skills.

How to apply

Entry requirements for Swinburne University of Technology

Standard entry:- Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in any discipline equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree. Students with an undergraduate degree in IS or IT may be eligible for up to four exemptions and depending on the number of exemption(s) given, will need to complete at least 12 more units to qualify for the award or

　　Students with other tertiary degrees (i.e. graduate certificate, graduate diploma) in IS or IT may be eligible for exemptions on a case-by-case basis or

　　Successful completion of the Masters Qualifying Program

　　Special entry:- A special entry provision is available for applicants without an appropriate qualification but who have significant relevant work experience* (usually at least five years) and evidence of academic capability (e.g. successful completion of a Certificate or Diploma course at a TAFE with high grades or attaining a GMAT of 550 or higher). Such applicants may be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate of Business Information Systems.

　　Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 70%, all skills 65%

　　minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0

　　TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 79 with a reading band no less than 18 and writing band no less than 20

　　Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 58 (no communicative skills less than 50)

　　any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.
