About the course

This curriculum takes a hands-on approach to developing the foundation, knowledge, and experience necessary to succeed in marketing today.Courses throughout the marketing concentration pair students at the start of the semester with an industry client to work on an issue for the client. Students perform one-to-one work with the client, conduct surveys and experiments to gather data, analyze and interpret that data, and come up with a strategic recommendation for the client by the end of the semester.

　　Through constant contact with industry experts, marketing faculty keep pace with the needs of the industry, regularly updating courses to meet those needs. Whether that?s the latest trends in data analytics or in social media, marketing students embrace NC State?s Think and Do attitude, taking the concepts they?ve learned and putting them to immediate use to solve real-world problems.

　　Marketing students are creative, driven, and ready to meet challenges. Courses often involve working with students across disciplines. This requires an ?outside the box? approach to thinking, and at the same time prepares students for their future in industry, where they?ll work with individuals from across the organization. Entry requirements for North Carolina State University - Raleigh

a GPA of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) in their undergraduate degrees.

　　Applicants with a 3 year bachelor?s degree are required to request a course by course evaluation, as well as a conversion to a GPA on a 4.0 scale.

　　Acceptance into the Jenkins MBA program revolves around more than just GPA and GMAT/GRE scores. The decision is based on a candidate?s overall combination of academics, strengths, and experience. In addition to test scores, we look for evidence of academic promise from previous undergraduate and graduate work. We also value a candidate?s aptitude for management through full-time employment, volunteer or military experience.

　　Completion of an undergraduate statistics course with a grade of ?C? or better prior to beginning MBA coursework. You may apply before completing the statistics requirement, however, a transcript indicating completion must be received and reviewed before the beginning of the semester.

　　Two years of full-time, post-baccalaureate professional employment is required for applicants to the Professional Evening and Online MBA programs. The same experience is not required, but highly recommended, for the Full-time MBA program. Work experience waivers may be considered for those with military service or special circumstances.
