About the course
Urban and Regional Studies is an interdisciplinary program oriented toward examining and understanding the broad range of problems and challenges associated with the nation's cities and regional areas. Many career opportunities exist in community development, urban/regional planning, local government, and local government management. Students are encouraged to undertake independent study, become involved in community service projects, participate in field studies, and accept internships in local agencies. Entry requirements for Minnesota State University - Mankato
Special Requirements: 2 letters of recommendation, statement of background and goals, including familiarity with technology (ex. Word, Excel, GIS, etc.) International applicants must submit IELTS results of at least 6.5 on the educational administratin of the exam or TOEFL results of at least 79.
In addition to meeting the general admission requirements of College of Graduate Studies and Research, admission to the program as a degree-seeking student requires:
Undergraduate course in research methods/statistics, or equivalent
Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 in last two years of coursework
Two recommendation letters assessing potential for successful graduate study
Personal statement describing applicant's interests and experience.
