About the course

Become a certified teacher who is skilled and sensitive to the realities of how disabilities intersect with race, gender, socioeconomic status and culture in the classroom. Graduates of this program will be able to understand how learners grow, develop and vary individually across cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional and physical areas. They will learn how to design developmentally appropriate learning experiences, understand diverse cultures and ensure inclusive learning environments, create environments of support and collaborative learning that encourage positive social interactions, and seek appropriate leadership roles. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Missouri - Kansas City

Grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4-point scale. One page statement of interest/purpose. 2 letters of recommendation. Satisfactory completion of the MoGEA.

  A bachelor's or first-level professional degree from a regionally accredited institution. If the degree is from a non-U.S. college or university, the institution must be recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned. The degree must at least be equivalent to a four-year U.S. bachelor’s degree or first-level professional degree. A satisfactory academic record. Applicants from countries in which English might be one of the official languages, but is not necessarily the first language of the majority of the population, must attain a minimum composite score of either 213 (CBT) or 80 (iBT) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or a score of 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) to be considered for admission.
