About the course
The Division of Music History, Theory and Ethnomusicology at the University of North Texas provides advanced instruction and practice that prepares you for a career in music academia and higher education. Many of our graduates have successful careers as professors or lecturers at colleges and universities in Texas, the U.S. and abroad. Others work with music publishers or in large research libraries. We offer course work leading to a Master of Arts or Doctor of Philosophy degree in Music with a concentration in Music Theory. How to apply
Entry requirements for University of North Texas
Applicants holding a bachelor’s degree, its equivalent from a regionally accredited institution. If admitted, original and official documents will be required before you can register for classes. Official transcripts are required for all U.S. schools attended before processing your application. Transcripts should be sent to the Toulouse Graduate School which will be reviewed and then sent to the academic department for an admission decision. UNT degree program applicants must demonstrate English Language Proficiency. Minimum TOEFL score requirement is 79 iBT, 213 computer, 550pBT, Minimum IELTS score is 6.0. 3.0 GPA in the undergraduate degree for admission to the Master’s program.
