About the course

UCM?s Master of Arts in Communication allows you to specialize in the areas of personal, community, professional, and/or media-based communication contexts. This program builds upon prior study and experience in communication (or a ly related field) preparing students for advanced work in communication professions or continued academic study in pursuit of a terminal degree. You can take a variety of courses in: leadership, group communication, communication research methods, managing conflict, verbal and nonverbal communication, message design, persuasion, and media?s impact on society. After completing a master?s degree in Communication, you may qualify for upper-level jobs in fields such as news, social media, advertising, marketing, government, administration/promotion for K-12, public relations, sales, human relationships, or prepare for postgraduate degrees. The MA in Communication - Applied Communication Option is a credentialing program designed to equip individuals with advanced skills and techniques, preparing them to be more informed and effective advocates, consumers, and communicators within personal, community, professional, and/or media-based contexts. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Central Missouri

IELTS exam score of 6.0, TOEFL exam score of 79 IBT or 550 PBT. Must have a 2.50 overall undergraduate GPA Have at least 15 hours of undergraduate communication courses. Complete and submit an online application to UCM’s Graduate School and International Admissions along with your official transcripts. In addition to the general admission requirements, applicants must submit the following items to the program coordinator: A statement of purpose Two letters of recommendation from professional or academic sources.
