The Department of Communication offers MA and PhD programs. The Master of Arts is designed to provide breadth and depth of study in the following areas: Organizational/Professional Communication, Intercultural/International Communication, Interpersonal Communication/Mediation, and Rhetoric/Public Communication. Entry requirements for University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee
An applicant must meet Graduate School requirements plus these departmental requirements to be considered for admission to the program: Possess the equivalent of an undergraduate major in speech, speech communication, or related areas. Possess an undergraduate grade point average of 3.00 in the major. Submit three letters of recommendation from persons capable of judging the applicant’s capacity for success in a graduate program of study. Submit scores from verbal, quantitative, and analytical sections of the Graduate Record Examination. Submit a sample of written work from an academic and/or professional assignment.
