About the course

This two-year program consists of academic coursework, independent research and supervised curatorial projects. Students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular workshops, conferences, internships and travel programs. Our graduate program offers significant historical and geographical breadth, with courses that explore Northern and Southern Europe, the United States, East Asia, Latin America and the Islamic world. Art History at OSU differs from most traditional art history programs by emphasizing circuits of exchange and intercultural networks. Faculty consider broad themes such as gender, globalization, transnationalism, propaganda and modernity from a wide range of theoretical and historical perspectives. How to apply

Entry requirements for Oklahoma State University

The online application will require the following:

　　· the submission of transcripts

　　· a statement of purpose

　　· a writing sample (5-10 pages, an excerpt from a longer work is acceptable)

　　· contact information for three recommendation letter writers

　　· application fee

　　Holders of baccalaureate or first professional degrees from colleges and universities of recognized standing are eligible to seek admission to the Graduate College.

　　All applicants, including Oklahoma State University students, must upload a copy of their transcript for bachelor’s degree(s) conferred or pending and for any graduate or professional coursework or degrees. If you do not have a copy of your transcript(s), please obtain and upload these prior to finalizing your application. The graduate program you are applying to may require two to four letters of recommendation.

　　For admission without qualification, a GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or the equivalent is expected in undergraduate coursework or a 3.00 in any graduate or professional coursework already completed.

　　Applicants for whom English is a second language are required to demonstrate an acceptable level of spoken English usually by submitting a TOEFL or IELTS score. TOEFL score of 79 (internet based test) 550 (paper based test) is required. Alternatively, an official IELTS, academic stream, examination with a minimum overall band score of 6.5 will satisfy the English proficiency requirements for admission to a graduate program.
