The first of its kind in Western Australia, this course combines specialisations in clinical practice with research practice. It is suitable for registered nurses, midwives, paramedics and oral-health therapists wanting to develop distinctive careers involving research activities within clinical settings.
You will learn the skills of evidence-informed clinical practice, including relevant health-care policy standards and strategies that enable translation of evidence into practice.
You will also explore qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods research processes, and related ethical considerations, for applied health research and evaluation practices.
Gain comprehensive knowledge in diabetes care and education, for a career that will advance the healthcare of people living with diabetes and their families. The Diabetes Studies specialisation is available to study as a graduate certificate and as part of the Master of Advanced Practice. It is designed for registered nurses, midwives and paramedics who have a professional or career interest in diabetics healthcare and education. You will also undertake a clinical placement in a diabetes-related health service, to consolidate your knowledge and further develop your interprofessional learning and collaboration skills.
