About the course

This popular combined programme provides a natural combination of two core social science disciplines. There are many potentially creative tensions between the two disciplines, which reflect the different modes of analysis traditionally used in economics and political science. The traditional links between economics and political science have been strengthened in recent years by the rapidly growing research programme into new political economy. Our joint programme exploits these links and tensions through a wide variety of optional honours courses.Courses are taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops and web-based learning.The Economics Help Desk offers students help and support throughout their programme. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Edinburgh

The standard entry requirement is:

　　SQA Highers: AAAAA - ABBB by end of S5. If you haven't achieved this by the end of S5 we may consider your application based on a strong performance in S6. A minimum of BBB must be achieved in one set of exams and by end of S5.

　　A Levels: AAA - ABB.

　　IB: 43 points (grades 776 at HL) - 34 points (grades 655 at HL)..

　　IELTS Academic module overall 6.5 with 5.5 in each component
