How to apply

Entry requirements for Newcastle University

A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in:

  English language

  English literature

  linguistics

  a similar related subject

  We will also consider your application if you have:

  two years of full time language teaching experience and

  a lower degree classification

  or a degree that is not English/language-related

  Direct Entry: IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.5 in writing, and 5.5 in all other sub-skills)

  TOEFL IBT: score of 90 with a minimum of Reading - 18, Writing - 17, Listening - 17, Speaking - 20.
