About the course

York houses one of the largest concentrations of health economics researchers in the world.

  Health economists are located in a number of departments at the University of York, including Department of Economics and Related Studies, Centre for Health Economics and York Health Economics Consortium.

  Collectively, our group has extensive international networks and recognition, recent bibliometric analysis by the World Bank places York as the only UK institution in the world top ten in health economics, alongside Harvard, Stanford and Berkeley. The two main international journals in the field (Health Economics and Journal of Health Economics) have been edited from York.

How to apply

Entry requirements for University of York

Applicants to the iPhD are usually required to hold a Bachelor degree in Economics with a 2:1 or 1st class honours (or overseas equivalent) and an MSc in Economics or in a ly related discipline with a high average mark. MSc programmes providing little or no background in Economics and Econometrics or without formal examinations at post-graduate level in Economics and Econometrics do not meet the entry requirement. IELTS: 6.5, with no less than 6.0 in each component TOEFL: 87, with no less than 21 in each component
