About the course

The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) postgraduate program is aimed at developing understanding and skills in the area of TESOL. The courses are also designed to help you develop disciplinary knowledge in the area of second language acquisition, as well as specific knowledge in the area of teaching English to speakers of other languages. The combination of theoretical knowledge and teaching methodology is designed to equip you with tools for classroom practice as a prospective TESOL practitioner. The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages courses allow you to study on campus, via online mode, or a combination of the two.

  The Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) requires 0.5 years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). The course is offered by the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.

  The course articulates with the 36 unit Graduate Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and the 72 unit Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and the sequentially developed topics enable progression through the three awards.
