About the course

If you're seeking a shorter period of study than that required for the Master of Education (TESOL) degree, you should consider this program. You can still choose to complete your certificate with units of study that suit your interests, or specialise in your chosen field from our offerings in TESOL. Subject to meeting progression requirements in the graduate certificate, you may apply to transfer to the Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies or the Master of Education. The course does not provide a recognised teaching qualification but is part of the broader postgraduate educational studies program for leaders and future leaders of dynamic and innovative education. The Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies has been designed to further the careers of teaching professionals, educational administrators, researchers and policy makers within specific areas of education practice. How to apply

Entry requirements for The University of Sydney

Admission to candidature requires:

　　a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either a postgraduate English language teaching qualification or at least two years full-time English language teaching experience, or

　　a bachelor's degree in English language teaching or equivalent qualification and at least one year's full-time English language teaching experience.

　　Subject to meeting progression requirements in the graduate certificate, you may apply to transfer to the Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies or the Master of Education.

　　IELTS score A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band

　　Toefl Pbt A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing

　　Toefl ibt A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
