About the course

This Certificate provides graduate music majors with the unique opportunity to enrich their playing, singing, arranging, and research skills in the history and performance practice of medieval, Renaissance and Baroque repertoires - over 1000 years of music The Certificate's core ensemble is the Collegium Musicum, which engages with all these repertoires, through the guidance of resident and guest experts, and through the SOM's own collection of unique and exotic replica instruments. The Certificate is a great complement to degree concentrations in musicology, theory, choral, or vocal/instrumental students, and provides aspiring professionals with expertise in the dynamic and expanding areas of early music scholarship and performance. Entry requirements for Texas Tech University

A complete curriculum vita showing your training and experience

　　A personal statement of professional goals and aspirations.

　　Sample of written work, such as term paper, master's thesis, published article, etc.

　　Letters of recommendation (3) are required to award both scholarships and teaching assistantships.

　　Additional audio/video materials will be required for specific degree programs.

　　A personal interview or audition before the appropriate divisional faculty is required. Performance or teaching videos/links and digital copies of written work are required before a personal audition or interview will be schedule. If travel to Texas Tech University is not an option, telephone interviews or online interviews may be an option.

　　Any transcripts that you are not able to add yourself to the Graduate School application can be submitted to Graduate.

　　Scores on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).

　　79 (internet-based version). The TOEFL score must be received directly from the Educational Testing Service , International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) – The minimum IELTS required score is an overall band score of 6.5 on the Academic version. TOEFL score of at least 213 (computer) or 550 (written) for students for whom English is a foreign language.
