About the course
The Autism Spectrum Graduate Certificate offers a specialized program of study for professionals seeking to gain competence in providing meaningful support for children, youth and adults on the autism spectrum from all walks of life. Through participation in coursework and relevant field experiences, candidates will acquire applied knowledge of contemporary theory, research and emergent issues to guide them in their respective professions across settings. Emphasis is on advancing humanistic, inclusive and neurodiversity affirming practices that are grounded in the values, preferences and lived experiences of autistic people. The certificate is designed for graduate students or post-graduate professionals representing diverse disciplines, including educators, therapists, advocates, self-advocates, family members, and others from a variety of fields and backgrounds.

How to apply
Entry requirements for San Francisco State University
To meet the minimum eligibility standards for graduate study at SF State, an applicant must: hold a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a regional accrediting association, or shall have completed equivalent academic preparation as determined by appropriate campus authorities, be in good academic standing at the last college or university attended, have a 3.0 GPA in their earned undergraduate degree or last 60 semester (90 quarter) units completed, or have earned a post-baccalaureate degree. The Division of Graduate Studies minimum TOEFL, IELTS, and PTE Academic scores are: TOEFL : 550 Total score on the paper based test or 80 Overall score on the internet based test (iBT TOEFL) or Overall band score of 6.5
